Virasat — meaning "heritage" — was founded in 2020 to celebrate and evolve South Asian arts in Canada. We create multidisciplinary performances blending theatre, music, dance, storytelling, and new media that reflect the lived experiences of the South Asian diaspora.
We are rooted in the belief that art is infrastructure — that it builds memory, solidarity, and belonging where systems fall short. Our work is for the diaspora, by the diaspora: a space to feel fully at home.
